Itinerary - Colorado River Kayak

9:00 a.m.   Hotel Pickups from Las Vegas Strip
10:15 a.m.   Arrive at Desert Adventures for check-in and paperwork. Guests are fitted with equipment and can purchase any last minute items.
10:30 a.m.   Travel across bypass bridge toward the put-in at Willow Beach, Arizona.
11:15 a.m.   Saftey briefing and kayaking instructions.
11:30 p.m.   Begin kayaking Black Canyon.
12:30 p.m.   Take a short hike along a historic trailhead.
1:00 p.m.   Kayak into Emerald Cave for a great photo opportunity.
1:15 p.m.   Lunch Break
2:00 p.m.   Refreshing dip in the Colorado River.

2:30 p.m.   Kayak through Black Canyon to Willow Beach for the take-out.
4:00 p.m.   Take-out at Willow Beach Marina. Clean gear and load up trailers, before driving back to Boulder City.
5:00 p.m.   Short stop at Desert Adventures, then transportation back to Las Vegas hotels.
6:00 p.m.   Arrival at hotels on Las Vegas Strip (+/- 30 minutes based on traffic).

Kayaking hiking swimming wildlife

Activities: Kayaking, Hiking, Swimming, Wildlife

Details: Approx. 4-5 hrs kayaking on the Colorado River. Water conditions are mostly flat, but can be choppy depending on wind & waves. Some sections have strong eddy lines and currents.

Equipment: Kayaks are high end, stable, and have rudders for steering. All safety equipment is provided, with dry bags. Single or tandem boats available.

Hiking: Short hike through thick vegetation. Rocky desert terrain, mostly sand and volcanic rock.

Distance: 5-6 miles
Class: Moving Flatwater

Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
Skill Level: Beginner +
